CAHRA Board of Directors - Nominations

We are accepting nominations for the following positions on the 2021 CAHRA Board of Directors: 

  • President-Elect
  • Vice President of Administration
  • Vice President of Finance
  • Vice President of Marketing
  • Vice President of Special Programs
  • Vice President of Communications
  • General Board Members (2 positions open)

The nomination deadline is June 28, 2020.

The President Elect is a one-year term, but the beginning of a three-year commitment. Serving as President Elect is followed by one year as President and another as Immediate Past President.

The Vice President positions are two-year terms.

The General Board positions are three-year terms.

We encourage members to self-nominate or nominate another CAHRA member you feel would be interested. We will contact all nominees and confirm their interest in serving. If you are interested in more than one position, please let us know that, too. 

What’s required of me as a CAHRA Board Member?

  • Attend a monthly board meeting (usually second Tuesday of the month, 11:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.)
  • Attend monthly membership meetings (second Thursday of each month)
  • Attend a state leadership orientation
  • Be a SHRM member in good standing
  • Make an annual $30 donation to the SHRM Foundation
  • Attend other committee or special meetings as needed
  • Each officer position has specific responsibilities, and we ask that the general board members take on one of the SHRM core leadership areas or specific Chapter responsibilities (diversity, job fair, foundation, legislative, workforce readiness, etc.).

The nominating committee is comprised of several CAHRA members, including the incoming 2021 President and Immediate Past President. Our goal is to interview candidates sometime between July 13th - 24th.  The slate of candidates will be announced to the membership by an Eblast in August, and voted upon in September.
