PROGRAM TOPIC:  Workplace Safety, Proper Reporting & Recording

SPEAKER:  Roosevelt Shavers, Asst. Area Director of OSHA

SPEAKER BIO:  Roosevelt Shavers, Jr., was born in Bakersfield California and grew up in North Little Rock, Arkansas. Roosevelt was a graduate of Jacksonville High School, Jacksonville Arkansas. He earned his Bachelors of Science degree from the University of Maryland. Roosevelt devoted twenty years to the Air Force in the Bioenvironmental Engineering career field, and used the most stringent published standards to monitor and protect the Air Force employees. Upon retiring from the Air Force, he came to OSHA in 2008 for one month as a Safety and Health Assistant, and then immediately into a Compliance Safety Health Officer Position. His work efforts garnered him a progressive level of awards ranging from an instant Good Job Award in the St. Louis Area Office, to the Region VII Outstanding Service Award in 2010 and, National Office, Leader of the Year in 2011. In July 2012 Roosevelt was offered and accepted the position as the Assistant Area Director in Region VI, Little Rock Area Office, Little Rock, Arkansas. Roosevelt presented several case reviews and continues to provide OSHA updates to various industry professional groups and conferences as an Assistant Area Director.
